Urge the EPA to Grant Clean Air Waivers now!
UPDATE: On December 18, the EPA approved two of California’s requested waivers: Advanced Clean Car II and Heavy-Duty Omnibus Low NOx. But there are still SIX MORE pending. The administration MUST approve these waivers before the end of the year to ensure California can implement our clean air rules.
The US EPA has delayed for far too long its decisions on eight California Clean Air Waivers that are waiting to be approved. These standards will reduce harmful air pollution from trucks, cars, locomotives, boats, leaf-blowers, and lawnmowers. That’s a lot of pollution waiting to be cleaned up from our communities! This pollution causes asthma, respiratory illness, and cancer.
Urge EPA Administrator Michael Regan (Regan.Michael@epa.gov) to approve these eight outstanding Clean Air Waivers today before it’s too late. Let him know that Californians want Clean Air!
You can also support CCA by making a donation today to help us keep fighting for California’s right to clean air.
Sample email text:
Dear Administrator Regan,
We urge you to ensure clean air for current and future generations of Californians. We have long awaited the approval of eight waivers to let California reduce emissions within the state for trucks, cars, locomotives, boats, leaf-blowers, and lawnmowers.
With another administration coming into the White House soon, there is no time to waste to protect our families. We need to have approval on the following waivers and authorization without delay: Small Off-Road Engine, Transport Refrigeration Unit, Commercial Harbor Craft, In-Use Off-Road Diesel-Fueled Fleets, In-Use Locomotive, and Advanced Clean Fleet.
Personalize your message here:
I live in a city which experiences many days of dirty air a year…
I am concerned about my children who have asthma…
My family member has experienced health harms due to pollution…
We respectfully ask that you approve all eight California waivers so that we can ensure clean air for our community!
Sincerely,
